Raw Pu-erh is a traditionally fermented tea that carries the tart, slightly astringent taste of Indian gooseberry (Amla), followed by a sweet aftertaste. When consumed regularly in moderation, this tea has remarkable potential to prevent diabetes, regulate blood pressure, reduce fat accumulation, and support heart health. This is the traditional form of Pu-erh, made from sun-dried tea leaves that naturally ferment over time. Pu-erh is often compressed into cakes as you can see in the picture or bricks, and can be aged for many years, gradually developing richer, more complex flavours as it matures. Our Raw Pu-erh is from the year 2006 and has now been aged for 18 years. Over time, it has matured into a tea with medicinal qualities because of the fermentation, offering a unique and healthful experience in your cup.
Preparation
2-3 g tea leaves (approx. 1 full teaspoon) to 100 ml ( approx Indian traditional tea cup) of filtered water at 90 ~ 100 °C temperature ; leave to infuse for 30 sec. Infuse same tea leaves 6 ~ 7 times.
